Who is responsible
LB Research is currently operated by Laura Brennan, trading as LB Research, in London, United Kingdom. Laura Brennan is the controller responsible for the personal information described in this notice.
For privacy questions or requests, email contact@lb-research.com.
Information we use
When you contact us, we receive your name, email address, enquiry type and message, together with any organisation, role, country or telephone details you choose to provide. We also keep correspondence needed to handle your enquiry. Required form fields are identified; without them we may be unable to respond.
Website requests can include an IP address, browser and device information, pages requested, referrer and technical logs. The contact form uses submission timing, a hidden anti-spam field and short-lived hashed request identifiers to prevent abuse and duplicate messages.
Please do not include sensitive personal information or confidential client information in an enquiry.
Why we use it
- To respond to enquiries and manage research correspondence, on the basis of our legitimate interests in communicating with people who contact LB Research. Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract with you, that is the relevant basis.
- To deliver, secure and maintain the website, prevent abuse and understand its use and performance, on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating a reliable research website.
- To send research updates where you specifically request them by email, on the basis of your consent. You can withdraw that request at any time by emailing us; withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful use.
- To meet legal obligations where applicable.
Submitting an enquiry does not add you to a mailing list. The form acknowledgement explains how we handle your enquiry; it is not marketing consent. We do not use enquiry information for automated decisions or profiling.
Website and email services
Service providers process information needed to operate this website and deliver correspondence. These include Vercel for hosting, Web Analytics and Speed Insights; Resend for contact-form email delivery; email services for receiving and replying to correspondence; and Mux for video delivery and playback diagnostics.
Vercel Web Analytics reports aggregate page-use information, such as page views, referrers, approximate location and browser or device type. It does not use third-party cookies to identify visitors. Speed Insights measures page performance. Loading video through Mux involves technical requests and may include playback and device information.
Provider information is available in the Vercel Web Analytics privacy documentation, Speed Insights privacy documentation, Resend privacy policy and Mux privacy policy.
These suppliers may process information outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Their published privacy and data-processing terms explain their international transfer arrangements. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
We do not sell personal information. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
How long information is kept
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to respond and manage related follow-up. In deciding when to delete it, we consider whether the enquiry is resolved, whether there is an ongoing research or business relationship, and whether records are needed for legal obligations or claims.
Contact-form abuse controls use short-lived in-memory records: the rate-limit window is ten minutes and successful-submission duplicate checks last five minutes. These windows do not determine how long email correspondence or provider logs are retained. Hosting, analytics, email and video records are subject to the relevant service retention settings and terms.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction of use or portability. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email contact@lb-research.com to make a request. We may need information to confirm your identity.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Visit the ICO complaints page or call 0303 123 1113.
